AdSense Placement - Left, Right, Out?

Secondly, think about what it is that grabs your visitors attention. Keep your ads to the top or left of the main attention grabbing content of that page. If your viewers will be looking at content in the centre then place the ads to the top or left of that content. Is there an image on the left hand side that will grab the visitors attention? Try to place the ad to the top of the image.

Setting ads near main content may mean you lose page space for other items. Many sites have a site index or other links to the left and putting ads there may disrupt your website design. If you have site links to the left I recommend using google ads at the top. Likewise if your index is at the top you can have your ads to the left. Some use drop down links at the top which means you can place google ads at the top and to the left if you wish.

For a graphical look at ideal ad placement you can view the google heat map here:
https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=17954

Bear in mind what your visitor is looking for. Keep your visitors happy and they will keep coming back. Design your site for your visitor first, AdSense or other income second.

Adsense Placement: Part 1

Making the most out of your AdSense sites means maximizing traffic inflow and maximizing click thru rate. That is, how many of your visitors click on the google ads. This article will be focusing on increasing visitor click thru rates through good AdSense placement.

There is a lot of advice about how to incorporate Google AdSense ads into your site.
Each webpage is unique and following blanket statements such as the best spot is to the left, top or right may not yield the best results for your particular page. I have come up with a few guidelines that will help you with better ad placement and increase your AdSense income.

Firstly, make sure there is enough white space around your ads. Try not to scrunch everything in. This doesn’t need to be said but keep the adsense links in the same theme as the rest of your site. It doesn’t have to be the same color, you can have a look at a color wheel for contrasting colors if it all looks a bit too plain.

How To Optimize Your Adsense Sites

Google adsense is a great place for new marketers to get their feet wet earning money online. It’s simple, place the Google ads on your
website or blog, visitors click on an ad they are interested in, you
get paid.

There are plenty of sites about setting up your account or web page so I won’t go into that here but if you already have your adsense account up and running the following tips may help you to optimize your sites for maximum income.

Research has shown that ads placed to the top right of the webpage have the most success. I recommend using a vertical ad placement to the right of your webpage. This will make them look similar to the vertical Google search results which we are all customized to using.

If you are using a blog site to display your ads make sure you check you have added the correct adsense id to the html. Some bloggers will not automatically add your id when you set it up. You will need to edit it manually and include your id starting with “pub-…”

Use adsense templates that match your website or blog design. Too many bright colours aren’t easy for some to look at and they will not stay long on your site.

Provide relevant and up to date information. Try updating your blog everyday or adding a new webpage to your site. This will make your page visitor and search engine friendly.

Be consistent. Whether you are writing blogs or articles to generate links, or some other form of traffic generation, keep at it a little each day.

Analyse traffic data. Use the channel account on Google Adsense to see which pages or sections of your site are getting the most hits. Optimize the ones that aren’t seeing any clicks. You may need to tweak some of your pages to make sure google is displaying relevant ads for your visitors.

Top 3 Newbie Marketing Mistakes - Part 3

Number 1:
Giving up to soon – Someone once said
“The greatest oak tree was once a tiny nut that stood its
ground.” You may feel like that tiny nut, but believe me,
persist and build on what you have and you will see greater and greater
results.

Make a plan and stick to it. Each week I make sure I spend time
updating my websites, exchanging links, writing articles, traffic
generation, researching keywords, looking for content, partners or
learning from competitors.

Just do a little each day. Keep focused on your core business and spend
most of your time building that up. Don’t give up and you
will see incredible success.

Top 3 Newbie Marketing Mistakes - Part 2

Number 2:

Failure to build on what you have – When
I first started out I was building referrals for traffic exchange programs. Nothing was
happening so I moved on only to find out about 5 months later that the
program was still generating traffic to an old website. You may not have the
same system but I be you have something you can build on. Even if you think
you have nothing, start building today for your future success.

Here are some things you can start
with.

* Build a website. You can use a free website
builder such as NVU without needing
any knowledge of html. You can download it from http://www.nvu.com/here
There other free and paid
versions you can look into yourself.

* If you want to get a bit fancier with your
websites and you don’t know html, you can learn it hear for
free – http://www.htmldog.com/
I recommend learning at least basic html at some stage.

* Do keyword research on your specific
interest. You can start at overture here - http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

* Set up an autoresponder. I like aweber.com Your
opt-in list will eventually be your biggest asset.

It is beyond the scope of this blog to go into any
detail about any of the above points. It is a starting point to put you
in the right direction. Again, think long term and start building an internet
presence today.

Top 3 Newbie Marketing Mistakes - Part 1

If you are reading this chances are you want to make it big
on the internet. A few lucky individuals find success almost instantly.
For most of us however, we need to work a bit harder for that allusive
internet fame and fortune.

I started online marketing about 10 years ago and initially had mild
success. After managing to sign up 240 people to a downline builder I
was hooked. The downline builder fell over but that one success kept me
motivated and trying new things even when it looked like I was going
nowhere.

Having learnt a lot since those times, especially what not to do, I
have compiled a list of 3 of the most common mistakes made by newbie
affiliate marketers.

Number 3:

Looking for the next ‘Sure Thing’ –
Everyone dreams of hitting it big. We’ve all seen the ads.
‘Earn Money The Easy Way’, ‘Make $5,000
In One Week’… It can happen but it’s
usually those individuals who already have systems in place and can
capitalize on a new opportunity.

If we are just starting out we need to think long term. I prefer the
‘building quality content websites approach’. Some
use squeeze pages to build giant opt-in lists and others
don’t even have a website. They can all work. Find an
approach that suits you. The important thing is do your research, take
your time to set up your program and you will see results.
